Construction Manager

gkkworksConstruction Services/CannonDesign has an exciting opportunity for anexperiencedConstruction Manager based at the West Hills Community College District project sites in Coalinga, Lemoore and Firebaugh, CA. We are an integrated global A/E/C firm that unites a dynamic team of architects, engineers, constructors, strategists, futurists, researchers, and industry specialists driven by a singular goal - to help solve our clients' and society's greatest challenges. The successful candidate will beresponsible for the overall management ofconstruction projects. Oversees single or multiplecontractors. Ensuresconstruction projects are completed on time and to the client's satisfaction. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Additional primaryresponsibilitieswill include:  Manage all site-based gkkworks/CannonDesign personnel and directs all entities sub-contracted to participate in the project Review and understand the project's contract documents inclusive of the drawings and written specifications. Interface with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, government inspectors and others in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate requiredinspections if necessary. Attend and/or administer project meetings including issuance of minutes. Participate in initial project budget preparation and develop preliminary schedules and assist with the constructability review and site logistics planning during the preconstruction phase of a project. Participate in and drive constructability reviews with the design team of the documents to understand the design intent (D/B projects). Responsible for the documentation of the field record of the project through ensuring the execution of "Daily Reports", "Meeting Minutes" and other pertinent documentation representing the company's construction implementation in the field. Receive Change Order Requests (COR) from the contractor(s). Research and validate relative to the contract documents in conjunction with the Owner. Apply technical expertise in interpretation of drawings and specifications and other contract documents for constructability, bid-ability, site access, staging, material lay-down, recommending construction methods, equipment, and changes to maximize the ultimate success of the project. Assist in resolving unforeseen site conditions, unplanned interferences, contract discrepancies, and other construction conflict problems and disputes between contractor, site staff, inspector, project manager and professional consultants. Evaluate, resolve conflicts and negotiate, approve, and process requests for payment by contractor(s). Ensure contractor(s) compliance to appropriate project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required. Monitor construction progress and costs; take corrective action as required to mitigate impacts to the schedule and budget. Identify risks associated with schedule, changes, safety and constructability issues associated with the construction process.  Qualified candidates must have 5+ years of construction and/or craft supervision experience of which at least 2 years functioning in a CM role on Healthcare, Education or Commercial projects.  Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering or related field preferred.  Strong supervision, team building, communication, and organizational skills as well as the ability to handle multiple projects required.
