Summary:
To provide routine care and services to clients that supports the medical model of care in the Activities Department.
To assist the Activity Director in the coordination and implementation of a comprehensive activity program as well as programs to meet individual needs of the clients.
The following specifications may differ depending upon the number of employees among whom the performance of a particular job function can be distributed and the size and type of community.
Employees will be required to perform any other job related duties requested by their supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Freedom from illegal use of drugs Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace Anyone found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment.
Must be of at least 18 years of age.
Oral and written communication skills.
Previous experience in a health care setting is a plus.
Education and/or Experience High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or three-six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
Responsibilities:

Implements an interactive daily program, including large and small groups, special events, and community outings.

Provides one to one programming for clients who are unable or unwilling to participate in group programs.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meeting.
4.
Writes and implements measurable goals to meet the individual needs of the client.

Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks/ responsibilities and complete duties/projects within the time allotted.

Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes to a licensed nurse.

Meet the client's mental health and social needs.
8.
Be aware of developmental tasks and physiological changes associated with the aging process.
9.
Maintain/ support the client's right to maintain personal choices.
10.
Able to work effectively with the client's families.
11.
Approach all clients in a kind, gentle, and friendly manner.
Respect for the clients dignity and privacy is consistently provided.
Maintain the confidentiality of the client's information.
12.
Complies with facility policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, application universal precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of personal protective equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
13.
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and disaster procedures for the facility, with ability to locate nearest exit, understand and respond to written and oral instructions in case of emergency.
14.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
